Frequently asked questions

  • Pretty much what most Australians consider “Tex-Mex”, with burritos and nachos as much as a staple as tacos. Though much of this style of cuisine uses traditional recipes and preparations (braised meats, fresh salsas, homemade beans, rice etc.), the final products are finished a little differently (often with Monterrey Jack cheese, sour cream and wheat tortillas, though we favour corn @ MD). Plus we couldn’t have fried chicken on the menu if we were keeping things strictly authentic!

  • Damn straight. Coeliacs we’ve got you in a big way: 100% of our menu is available gluten free (the only substitution being the tortilla on the burritos, otherwise a gluten free request simply ensures we manage any cross contamination risks). Additional we have a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, and similarly can easily provide dairy free too.

For other allergies and dietary requirements, please check out our allergen guide. For our onion / garlic avoiding customers (plus fructose intolerant / FODMAP), we’ve put together this guide that has a bit more information about how we use onion and garlic as we appreciate the tolerance factor can vary widely and both items are used heavily in our menu. Please feel free to reach out to us via email for other dietary questions.

  • Our food is always best fresh, so we strongly encourage you to dine in or order online through our website to pick up, however we do use DoorDash as a delivery partner.

  • We strongly encourage bookings, however we always try and accomodate for walk-ins. If it’s a Friday or Saturday night, we do recommend you book or call ahead.

  • In short no. Unfortunately the building has a heritage overlay, and as such we have two steps (30cm in height total) leading into the restaurant. We have been able to successfully have customers who use wheelchairs manage the stairs with a portable ramp and there is ample room once in the venue but it’s not easy. We do have outside seating at street level and we will always assist as best we can in accommodating our customers.

The venue also has two unisex (non-gendered) ambulant compliant toilets.

  • We have an extensive range of vegetarian options and can use dairy free alternatives with meat products, however we are not a certified kosher or halal kitchen. We do use halal certified beef (and lamb for our lamb specials).

  • We are able to accommodate groups of up to 20 in the restaurant. For 10 or less you can book through the website, for more than 10 please send us an email or give us a call to discuss. All groups of 7 or over are required to dine on our feed me menu.

  • Watch this space. In the meantime if you’ve got an enquiry flick us an email and we can see what we can do!

  • No. As we maintain an almost entirely gluten free kitchen, we can’t run the risk of contamination from outside food and drink. If you’d like us to organise a cake for you, please get in touch when you book.
